I can’t think of a more appropriate theme song for those in a financial crisis than Let it go from the movie Frozen. A theme song sets the tone or mood for what is about to come. Walt Disney has a history of providing life lessons through entertainment so it is no surprise Frozen and Let it go follow in this tradition.

The lesson in Frozen is to “Let it go” as all too often trying to be the “perfect girl” creates a ripple effect of sleepless nights and crushing debt.

The more you try to become perfect, the more you discover just how unrealistic this sense of perfection is and the only way to stop this behavior is to LET IT GO!

Follow along with me as I analyze the lyrics and see if you agree.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation,
And it looks like I’m the queen.

The further you go into debt the bigger your kingdom of isolation grows. Crushing debt isolates you from friends, family, co-workers, and your former self.

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I tried

Stress levels grow as the debt begins to compound. You deal with it by robbing Peter to pay Paul or by praying for the winning lottery ticket.

Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well, now they know

You try and shield your financial situation from any and all who are around you. You put on a brave face all the while the voices in your head strangle any thoughts of hope or relief.

So what do you do?

Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door

Yes, you let the debt go through bankruptcy because if you do not seek some type of assistance your body will revolt. The fact of the matter is, the energy generated from stress MUST go somewhere.

If you are not going to eliminate the stressor such as debt then stress will seek to escape through other paths. This alternative path will either be through your stomach in the form of an ulcer or your heart in the form of a heart attack or your psyche through depression.

I don’t care
What they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway

In order to truly let stress go through bankruptcy, you must ignore what others might say. Who cares whether or not you have filed bankruptcy? You are not a failure for taking legal and ethical steps in order to protect your future. Walt Disney was forcibly thrown into bankruptcy and God issued his thoughts on debt relief through Deuteronomy 15:1-2. Neither Walt nor God allowed debt to stand in their way.

So let the debt go!

It’s funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can’t get to me at all

The above is a perfect description of what many debtors feel after bankruptcy. They cannot believe that fear prevented them from taking action sooner.

Bankruptcy gives you financial control while shielding you from creditors.

It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and breakthrough
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I’m free

Bankruptcy provides financial freedom that many have never experienced before because they are no longer held hostage to debt or creditors.

In fact, this freedom opens a whole new world of opportunities. For some, it is a different job while others now have the opportunity to move.

Either way, bankruptcy has allowed them to pursue dreams they never thought possible before they…

Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry

Once the discharge Order is in hand the debtor does not regret or cry over eliminating their debt.

Here I stand
And here I’ll stay
Let the storm rage on

The bankruptcy code allows the debtor to stand firmly and say “Let the storm rage on”. Why, because if the creditor attempts to collect the debt after filing bankruptcy, the Court will make them let the debt go (generally speaking unless it is taxes, student loans, or child support).

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back,
The past is in the past

The bankruptcy code is extremely powerful and allows you to isolate, freeze and eliminate most debts.

It is up to you to harness this power, learn about your options and prepare to never go back to being held hostage by any creditor again.

Remember, the past is truly in the past and bankruptcy allows you to move forward toward a bright financial future. Soooo…

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone

You no longer have to live up to everyone’s financial standards and try to be perfect. Perfection is an unattainable standard causing anything but perfection. Let it go and be thankful you are human.

Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway

Take a stand today and declare your financial freedom through bankruptcy.

The creditors and bankers can rage on and stomp their little feet but the fact still remains, the bankruptcy code will force them to let it debt go!

I had a wonderful experience with Jonathan Leiderman at LSS Law. Not only is he well experienced, but he is also very patient and supportive throughout a tough time. I appreciate that he takes such a hands-on approach where there is no going through office staff and waiting for a reply. He deals with you one-on-one, and he is your single point of contact. He takes time to answer all your questions and takes the time to ensure that you understand every aspect. He is highly communicative and does so in a timely manner.... I always got a response within minutes or hours, at the latest 24 hours. I don't know how he does it all, but I am grateful that I had him to represent me! I highly recommend Jonathan and LSS Law!
